VET in High School

Our vibrant VET in High School curriculum is developed especially for high school students who want to get a qualification and gain a head start on their photography career before leaving school. We foster a creative and inclusive environment for students to flourish and thrive. With both online and in-person study options available students can access our VET program no matter where they are in Australia. Our VET in High School programme is run in our professionally-equipped studio space in Hendon. For all enquiries, please call our friendly staff to discuss your options on 8354 0839

Hear what VET in High School alumni Sam Graves and his mum Rebecca Graves say about our Certificate IV programme:

How it works

Generally starting in year 10 (with the option of mid year entry) you undertake one subject with the CCP per term until you have the full nine subjects that make up a Certificate IV. You can start in year 11 or 12, however you will need to have a higher study load in some terms to finish a full Certificate IV.

In high school you are often changing ideas about what you want to become when leaving school, so we keep our VET in High School programme flexible by allowing you to study a semester of our beginning courses (30 Stage 2 Senior Secondary Certificates of Education (SSCE) credits) before you fully commit to a Certificate IV.

You can study online or in-person!! We want students from all across Australia to be able to access our VET in High School program. That’s why we’ve made every class accessible online or in-person.

We keep our classes small so no matter which option you choose you’ll still get the same dedicated level of help and expertise. Don’t worry, we’ve made sure you wont miss a thing by studying online. You’ll cover exactly the same course material, get the same qualification AND get to meet and chat with your lecturer and classmates in our live Zoom classes and Google classroom.

For a face to face experience, we use Zoom for live workshops. Ask your lecturer questions, make friends and have fun. Share work, complete assignments and communicate with your classmates in a clear easy to use digital platform - Google Classroom.

The best part? Online study is pandemic proof. Meaning that no matter what happens, you won’t need to change plans at the last minute. Your online classroom is always there for you.

 What you will learn

Your first semester you study our VET in High School specific courses Creative Camera A and Creative Camera B - giving you 30 stage 2 SSCE credits.

Once you have completed our VET core subjects you will then get to choose two of our Certificate IV electives

When does this course run?

Our Creative Camera courses specifically for High school students, run in semester 1 (Terms 1-2) and semester 2 (Terms 3-4) of each year.

Students will study Creative Camera A (Introduction to Photography) during the first term of their study, and Creative Camera B (Camera Portfolio 1) in the second.

What you will need

Your own DSLR camera with a lens is essential

Memory cards to suit your camera

A materials budget to print images at the end of term for assessment

Access to a computer and a printer.

Fees and pricing

We work a little bit differently to typical schools. Basically you pay for your certificate term by term, course by course. Meaning you don’t need to fork out up front for your entire Certificate IV in one hit.

In 2024 courses are $955 each, except for Introduction to Photography which is $855. You will need to take nine of our accredited nine week courses to complete your Certificate IV in Photography and Digital Imaging. Seven core courses and two elective courses.

Some schools will pay for this and others will require the parents or guardians to pay. Speak to your VET or careers Coordinator for more information on your school’s specific requirements.

Worried about the cost? Yeah we get it. We have payment plans available for each course so you can easily pay it off over time. And even if a school requires payment by a parent, often we will still invoice the school, and the CCP tuition fees are added to the regular school fees, to be paid as part of an existing instalment plan.

Call us on 8354 0839 if you want to talk to us about it - we are here to help.
